Kinesiology is a study filed researching human exercises and influences on health, society and quality of life. The meaning of the term 'exercise' here includes daily movements, labor activities, sports activities, expression activities and cultivation/correction, treatment and rehabilitation of body and mind.

Kinesiology has a value for ensuring academic background of professional called a kinesiologist. As there are doctors in medicine and nurses in nursing exist, Kinesiology helps to ensure the professionalism of kinesiologists. As such, establishing Kinesiology is an important task related to employment and career of majors.

The establishment of Kinesiology will help clear picture of physical education. Traditionally, physical education has been defined as the "education of human body” or “education for physical activities”. However, existing physical education faced difficulties in establishing itself as a filed of science covering exercise phenomena of human being as always the body is recognized as a corresponding idea of mind. Thus, various countries in the world is now putting their efforts to overcome the limitation through a new terminology based on science. The term 'Kinesiology' is one of such attempts.

Therefore, the establishment of Kinesiology will help the new establishment of physical education begun from the dichotomous premise of body and mind. As math education is based on mathematics, kinetic education may exist based on Kinesiology. In such context, kinetic education becomes a sub-field of physical education or a similar concept. Traditionally, kinetic education might be included in physical education, but the term 'physical education' in the physical education field may be replaced with 'kinetics'.
